CHC: RHP Jason Marquis (3-3, 5.02 ERA)
Marquis picked up his first road win since Sept. 16, 2007, in his last start. He gave up three runs on four hits in the Cubs' 9-6 win over San Diego. He is 2-1 with a 2.25 ERA in his eight career starts against the Dodgers. On Sept. 6, 2007, he threw seven innings of two-run, four-hit ball and did not get a decision.


LAD: RHP Brad Penny (5-7, 5.45 ERA)
Penny returned to form Tuesday against the Rockies. He gave up two runs on six hits in six innings with the help of a good splitter. He also struck out five and walked four. Penny threw his first quality start in his last seven outings. He is still winless in his last six starts, but he lowered the 9.43 ERA he had compiled. Penny has not won since May 2.
