Default Cubs Make Comeback and Take Series

There were plenty of heroes Sunday afternoon as the Cubs came from behind to take the series finale against the Astros. Lee hit his second homer in as many games in the eighth with Alfonso Soriano on first after a one-out leadoff single. It's the 27th come-from-behind win for the Cubs this season, and they now are 9-5 in one-run games since the All-Star break. Remember, they began the season 0-6 in one-run decisions.

Matt Murton started the comeback with a leadoff pinch-hit home run in the Chicago seventh to make it 5-4. Carlos Marmol (5-1) picked up the win in relief.

Jones made the defensive play of the game when he snared pinch-hitter Mark Loretta's fly ball with a diving grab in the gap in left-center field, avoiding a collision with Soriano, who also was aiming for the ball.

Give credit to the bullpen, too. Starter Rich Hill exited after five innings, and five relievers threw four hitless, scoreless innings. Add all that, and end the result is a big win.

Lee's homer was his 17th of the season, and landed in the basket in left. The Cubs needed that. Both the Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals won on Sunday to keep the pressure on the Central.
