| Come party at Cubs Rally Monday at Daley Plaza in downtown Chicago, beginning at noon CT on Monday. Chicago Mayor Richard Daley and Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich will attend, as well as other special guests. Fans are asked to arrive by 11:30 a.m., and the event is scheduled to last until 12:45 p.m. The event is free and will be held rain or shine. Cubs fans don't need an excuse to party, but this will be a chance to celebrate the season and probably sing at least one chorus of Steve Goodman's song "Go Cubs Go," which has become the postgame anthem at Wrigley Field after wins. Rally Monday was instituted in 2004 and has grown into an annual happening in the cities where postseason games will be played. Each participating club that is playoff-bound, in conjunction with Major League Baseball, has prepared an entertainment slate that is free of charge and typically includes live music, playoff ticket giveaways, local vendors and celebrity appearances. Rally Monday also gives local and national business partners a chance to capitalize on the excitement of each club's advancement into the postseason, engaging fans in a celebration setting. ![]() ![]() ![]()
