Dirty Red Helps Cubs Down the Cards

The Cubs tallied with two outs in the third. With Alfonso Soriano on third after a double, Aramis Ramirez walked and Murton launched a 1-2 pitch from Mark Mulder (0-3) to left, the ball deflecting off the screen on the left-field foul pole. Craig Monroe then doubled, and Soto was safe on an infield single. Ronny Cedeno hit an RBI single to make it 4-0.
